Nurse Amy Latz earned the National Certification for School Nurses credential by successfully passing the national certification examination on November 7, 2023.  The NCSN credential reflects competence and professionalism.  Nurse Latz demonstrates a high level of education, clinical practice experience, and knowledge.

NBCSN’s mission is to advance the health and learning of students, and wellness of the school community, through a rigorous national certification process for school nurses. 

SAGE is honored to have Nurse Amy Latz who has the credentials of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Registered Nurse and now a Nationally Certified School Nurse. 

Erin Nash Named Regional Teacher of the Year

Mrs. Erin Nash, a gifted education teacher, was named a Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year for Kansas City in 2017. She was one of six honorees.  

The Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year award is part of the Missouri Teacher of the Year program, sponsored by the Department of ElementaryErin  and Secondary Education (DESE). The Missouri Teacher of the Year program recognizes the efforts of effective teachers in providing a quality education to their students.  Preparing, developing and supporting effective educators is one of DESE's primary goals.

SAGE teacher, Erin Nash and her 4th & 5th graders made it to the Top 20 in the 2021 Battle of the Brains competition. There were over 600 entries from 50 schools in the Kansas City Metro area. Online public voting was once again a part of narrowing down to the final winner announced at Union Station. Our team was made up of students from six different district elementary schools!

Kansas City Water Department: Floating Wetland

SAGE students partner with the Kansas City Water Department to create a floating wetland
